For more than 180 years, The Manhattan FISH MARKET on Fulton Street has greeted the dawn from its location in Manhattan under the Brooklyn Bridge, with the freshest seafood. Over the years, The Manhattan Fish Market hasn't changed much and has maintained its reputation as the largest wholesale fish market in the country.

Rugged men arrive well before dawn and swing their fishbooks until mid morning. piles of crushed ice melt on the sidewalks. Fresh salmonbeing weighted on huge scales. Butches cutting up tunas on giant 3'by 8' cutting boards. These are just some of the slights that will greet you when you visit The Manhattan Fish Market.

This historic market opens its doors daily from 7 to 9am where the best restaurant and local fish store owners wander through the stalls for the freshest, top-quality seafood products every day of the year. There is always the race to see who comes in first to get the best produce. It isnt surprising then that more than 150 million pounds of seafood pass through the market every year.

As a Manhattan restaurant owner once said about The Manhattan Fish Market, "This is a whole world in int self. It's seafood at its finest."
