Shanghai Takes Centre Stage at Chynna

Shanghai boasts one of China’s more distinctive cuisines and has gained worldwide popularity. From 1st April to 31st May 2012, sample some of the finest recipes from Shanghai as Chynna, Hilton’s Award Winning Restaurant, pays tribute to a cuisine that was derived from various Chinese cultures.

Among the signature dishes during the Shanghai promotion include classics such as the Lion’s Head, Stir-fried Four Colour Vegetables, Shanghai Crabmeat Dumplings, Stewed River Eel and Long Jing Fresh Water Prawns.

“Chynna has always been known for serving fine Cantonese cuisine so we hope our Shanghai menu will be well received. These recipes were sourced all the way from Shanghai so customers can expect an authentic menu,” says Chef Lam Hock Hin, Executive Chef of Chynna.

Shanghai cuisine is known to be unique as most of the dishes are either slightly sweet or have a subtle spicy taste and is often colourful and well presented. The signature Lion’s Head dish derived its name from the meatball that is suppose to represent the head of the lion while the cabbage represents the mane. Another popular dish is the Spicy Boiled Fish, a clay pot Red Snapper fish smothered with gravy made from Sichuan peppers, dried chilies and star anise seed.

The Shanghai Cuisine menu starts from RM38++ per serving. CIMB Credit Cardholders are entitled to a 15% discount on the total food bill.
