The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as the Rice dumpling festival, falls once a year on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. The tradition of making these dumplings, also known as ‘Chang’ in Cantonese began as a ritual to honour the great poet Qu Yuan. Be sure to commemorate this memorable occasion and get your dumpling fix this month at Toh Lee. Chef Wong’s creations include Nyonya Style Glutinous Dumpling served with Boiled Chicken and Dried Shrimps as well as Boiled Baby Abalone with Glutinous Wild Rice Dumpling. You will begin to wish this festival was every month.
