Midsummer Nights Feast is a 10-day gourmet festival that is the first its kind, combining the best of culinary treats with theatrics of the performing arts masterminded by Datuk Faridah Merican and Joe Hasham of The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac),

Feast Village at Starhill Gallery will be transformed into a gourmand's paradise featuring a mesmerizing array of cuisines from Mediterranean fare to Thai, Korean, Italian, Malay, Western and Peranakan & Nyonya specialties.

Highlights of Midsummer Nights Feast

Culinary dreams come true with dramatic expressions of the performing arts for the whole 10 days of this unique festival.

1) Opening Gala Dinner for Midsummer Nights Feast on 11 July 2008

An opening gala in a tribute to Midsummer, celebrating a specially created menu with wine pairing at Shook! A Midsummer Nights Ballet performance will bring a fantastical world of elves, fairies and everything magical alive!

2) Night of Eastern & Oriental Express on 12 July 2008

Experience the world class cuisine of the legendary Eastern & Oriental Express at Shook!. Diners will be treated to an interactive sketch based on Agatha Christie's "Murder on the Orient Express" where they can play detective for the night to solve a murder mystery to win two train tickets for the Eastern & Oriental Express. A dinner not to be missed!

3) International & Local Celebrity Chefs

International and local chefs will be brought in for the festival. Among them include the host for World's Cafe Asia in Discovery Travel & Living Channel, Clebrity Chef Bobby Chinn and Master Chef Stephen Mercer from Australia.

Chef Ismail, Food Ambassador for Malaysian Kitchen will share his specialties with us, while YTL Group Executive Corporate Chef Kevin Cape will lead his team of award winning master chefs to conjure the freshest flavours of the world at Feast Village.

4) Feast Village Master Chef Classes

During the day, Master Chefs from Feast village as well as international celebrity chefs will demonstrate and showcase their culinary skills, sharing their secret recipes and tips. (Please refer to the schedule)

5) Night of Bobby Chinn on 14 July 2008

Celebrity Chef Bobby Chinn - Asia's hottest and funkiest maestro in the culinary scene will be creating special menus exclusively for this festival in Shook!. Diners will also be entertained by Bobby Chinn and his band!

6) Best of Shook! on 15 July 2008

Come, experience the best of Asian & European cuisine at Shook!, featuring the first and only restaurant concept with 4 open kitchens, namely Italian, Japanese, Chinese and Western Grill. Enjoy a diversity of specially created cuisines, served with a variety of Broadway Hits by KLPac.

7) Organic Night on 16 July 2008

If you are conscientious about fresh food and health, this is the night that should not be missed! A special menu will be created using organic and non-genetic modified produce as key ingredients.

8) Night of Stephen Mercer on 17 July 2008

Master Chef Stephen Mercer who is flown in specially from Australia will prepare his famed signature masterpieces at Fisherman's Cove from 15 July - 19 July 2008. A special night will be dedicated to his cuisines on 17 July 2008 at Shook!, enjoyed with melodies of the KLPac Sinfonietta String Ensemble.

9) "Balik Kampung" on 18 July 2008

If you are craving for your mom's authentic home cooked food, join us for Balik Kampung night where Chef Ismail will bring back the nostalgia of authentic Malaysia food, served with Malay Jazz Classical by Sean Ghazi.

10) Launch of Feast Village Junior on 19 July 2007

Shook! will launch its "Feast Village Junior Menu" which holds special significance in enhancing the appreciation of good food among young Malaysians. Exciting food-related activities will be organized to keep the young one entertained during the launch.

11) Night of Majestic Peranakan on 19 July 2008

A culinary tribute to a unique Malaysian culture and heritage with Peranakan & Nyonya cuisine that with add delicious spice to your life, reminiscent of colonial resplendence as restored in The Majestic Hotel, Malacca owned by YTL Corporation.

12) *Grand Harvest Night on 20 July 2008

The 10-day event of gourmet excellence will be culminate in the Grand Harvest Night where diners can enjoy world class cuisines from 12 different restaurants at Feast Village, offering over 50 choices of cuisines - all with a "Gourmet Safari" pass at RM200 nett per person.
